Regional Director Estela Leon-Cariño and ARD Benjamin Diaz Paragas have both encouraged DepED RO2 family to embrace fitness as part of their Friday working schedule to “ feel good” as they tend to have a physical and mental balance that results in a more positive attitude in the workplace.
The Friday wellness activity, which is now on its fourth month, covers Zumba for dance exercise enthusiasts along with badminton, volleyball and videoke singing between 3 and 5 in the afternoon.

“Having encouraged us to be engaged in fitness activities every Friday demonstrates a sincere concern for our well-being by our Directorate officials,” a job order employee said.
“Somehow, it is also an avenue where employees release their emotional and physical tensions brought by daily stressful routinary works,” PDO II Maribel C. Buyogan of the Public Affairs Unit added.
The Friday Wellness activity is by virtue of Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 8.s.2011 dated march 7, 2011 which reiterates the Physical Fitness Program “Great Filipino Workout” that should be adopted as an integral part of the National Physical Fitness and Sports Development Program for government personnel.
