To give due recognition to the over whelming contributions of women particularly at DepEd, the Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD) spearheaded the 2016 National Women’s Month Celebration which was on the theme: ”Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda”, on March 31, 2016.

To encourage the participation of all regional office employees, a Quiz Bee Competition was participated in by 7 teams. The most informed team that bagged 1st Place in the competition was Team Administration.

An Essay Writing Contest was inspired by the topic: ” The Significant Woman in my Life” using the Mother Tongue, i.e. Ibanag, Itawes, and Iloko.

FTAD initiated a simple survey conducted among RD employees which sought their level of awareness on GAD concepts processes and core values.  These data would be important in benchmarking the implementation of the program in the region. The results of the GAD Survey was presented during the culmination program.

The highlight of the Women’s Month Celebration was a program held to pay tribute to all the “Juanas” of  DepEd Region 02. The female employees were serenade with meaningful songs by the gentlemen. Bookmarks, leis and inspirational messages were given to the ladies. Moving messages were shared by the OIC-Asst. Regional Director Benjamin D. Paragas and OIC- Regional Director Estela Leon- Cariño.
